Page County University Extension & Outreach to host a Pasture Walk

Page County, Iowa University Extension and Outreach is hosting a special Pasture Walk this week.
Extension Director for Paige County Iowa, Kimberly Cavalier, says the event is tomorrow evening with a meal beginning at 5:30.

"We're going to start off with a meal provided by the Page County Cattlemen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church right there on Highway 2 in between Clarinda and Shen.  And it's just a couple of miles away from the farm, the pasture actually, that is owned by Ron Beaver.  Ron is our host for this pasture walk."

Cavalier says there will be three program topics discussed.

"We're going to talk about watering system demonstrations."

The Ag Engineer along with the local Page County producer are going to be talking about the water system demonstrations.  Then the field agronomist is going to do plant identification and management.  And then they're going to finish the night with the beef specialist who's going to talk about cow nutrition in the fall.

Cavalier says people wanting more information or to register for the event should contact Page County University Extension and Outreach in Clarinda.
